Ron Ames

Ron Ames is a film producer, visual effects executive, meditation teacher, and Certified Change and Transition Strategist whose career spans both Hollywood soundstages and mindfulness retreats. With decades of experience in high-level film production and a deep commitment to personal transformation, Ron brings a rare combination of creative mastery and grounded insight to every endeavor—whether guiding a complex post-production pipeline or leading a meditation workshop.

A graduate of the UCLA Film School who also studied theater at the Actors Studio with Lee Strasberg, Ron began his career directing theater in Los Angeles before moving into television commercials and music videos. His film credits include visual effects and post-production roles on some of the most technically ambitious projects in modern cinema, including The Aviator, Shutter Island, Star Trek Into Darkness, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Bumblebee, and Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Across all his work, Ron finds joy in the teamwork, artistry, and collaboration that define great storytelling.

While building a career in film, Ron was also on a more personal journey—drawn to meditation and Dharma practice as a way to find greater balance and presence. His studies with InsightLA founder Trudy Goodman led him to complete Spirit Rock’s Dedicated Practitioners Program and later become part of InsightLA’s first teacher training cohort. As a senior meditation teacher, he now offers mindfulness instruction across both secular and Buddhist traditions, with a focus on compassion, grounded awareness, and navigating life’s transitions with clarity and purpose.

Ron also serves as a Certified Life Balance Strategist through the Life Balance Institute, leading workshops and guiding individuals and groups through meaningful change. He specializes in integrating mindfulness with real-world challenges—particularly within the creative industries—and has a growing interest in elderhood, impermanence, and finding joy in the later chapters of life.
